How do you see deleted messages on Telegram?
Telegram itself does not show them: when your contact deletes a message it disappears on both sides. You can only see it if a copy was kept beforehand. That is what Amber does — it connects to your private chats and stores messages before they are deleted.
Do I need Telegram Premium?
No. Connecting chatbots under “Telegram Business” is open to every user.
Can my contact tell I connected a bot?
No, nothing changes in the chat. Amber runs on your side and shows what it kept only to you.
Does it work in groups and channels?
No. Telegram exposes only private chats to bots — that is a platform limit, not ours.
Is it safe? Who can see my messages?
The archive is yours alone. It is encrypted on disk, the keys are kept separately, and nobody has manual access to anyone's conversations — that follows from how the bot is built, not from a promise. We do not publish, analyse or pass it on, and one action erases everything for good.
Can it save a disappearing photo?
Yes, as long as you don't open it: swipe the message, reply with anything, and Amber keeps a copy. Once viewed, it is gone for good.
How does Amber protect against scams?
It watches behaviour rather than words, and sees what the chat itself cannot show. The strongest example: payment details swapped inside a message that was already sent. Telegram shows only the final text; Amber kept the original and compares them. It also notices a message carrying a card or a link that vanishes seconds later, a request for an SMS code, or a link to a domain impersonating a bank. A single weak signal stays quiet — a warning takes several of them together.
What happens when the 14 days end?
Nothing disappears: the archive stays and the bot keeps working. The free plan's limits simply come back — 3 chats, 7 days of history — along with two conditions: a subscription to our partner channels and up to two ads a day. Pro removes both.
Why does the bot ask me to subscribe to channels?
That is what pays for the free plan. Servers, media storage and voice transcription cost money whether or not a particular person pays, and partners are a more honest way to cover it than quietly making the product worse. One tap and the bot carries on; Pro removes the condition for good.
